It also provides health care support to another 500,000 Manitobans who live outside of Winnipeg as well as to residents of Northwestern Ontario and Nunavut. The WRHA employs over 28,000 dedicated staff members and has an annual operating budget of nearly $1.8 billion dollars. Central to Manitoba’s health care system, the WRHA operates or funds over 200 health service facilities, programs and community-based organizations. Reporting to the President and CEO the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for the development, implementation and interpretation of all Human Resource policies and programs to support the organizations culture, mission and objectives. In addition, the CHRO is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and so is involved in decision making for a variety of strategic and operational issues across the region. The CHRO also advises on Human Resources issues provincially through effective relationships and collaboration with other Human Resources leaders. The successful candidate will bring an action-oriented vision of HR services and a wealth of hands-on experience in creating and implementing programs to recruit, train, motivate and retain talented employees. Recognizing the impact of decision making and resource allocation in the development of new strategic ideas, and the benefit of involving others, the successful candidate will be sensitive to the enduring values of the WRHA and how to ensure those values continually guide business decisions. Requirements: •Previous experience in an Executive HR Leadership role. •Proven strategic thinking and decision making experience at the VP level. •Operational knowledge of the full breadth of HR services and programs •Proven Labour Relations experience. •Prior healthcare work experience. Knowledge of the Regional Health Authority model is ideal. •Prior HR management experience with multi location environments. •Experience working in a large scale employee environment. •Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field. A Masters degree such as an MBA is ideal. •Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
